By special arrangement, and the first time outside of Boone County, Domain Street Wine Bar now offers Shakespeare’s Pizza. We at Shakes couldn’t afford the gas to deliver them, but the fine folks at Domain Street could, so they came down and got a batch. We’ve been hearing for decades that we should open a pizza joint in the St Louis area somewheres, but haven’t figured out how to make the plunge. Now that we have, with a bit of help from Domain Street, we’re here/there. With all the pent up demand from a bazillion MU alums in the shadow of the Arch, when word of this gets out, it could get ugly. Real ugly.

These pies came from the frozen department in the back of the second restaurant in Columbia. Rated by the magazines, the food critics in the paper, and the guy who watches our parking lot, as somewhere between awful-darn-close and just plain indistinguishable from what you get on Ninth Street in The District, these pies are a great answer to some question or the other, we’re not sure. But they’re a great answer. We applaud Domain Street for knowing a good thing when they see it. And, for sliding some business our way.
